Mesic flatwoods Many fire-killed pines Midslope mesic flatwoods with canopy of planted Pinus elliotii. Most pines killed in recent fire. Very thick shrub layer of Serenoa repens. Herbaceous species include Aristida beyrichiana, A. purpurescens, Aster dumosus, Digitaria filiformis, Elephantopus elatus.
